Pastor Fred W. Batten, Jr.
Pastor Batten graduated from Oakland High School in 1983.He completed a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro in 1994. Pastor Batten graduated from Vanderbilt University’s Divinity School in 1998 with a Master of Theological Studies degree.
In 2000, he entered fulltime ministry in the South Central Conference of Seventh-day
Adventists by serving in the Mississippi Delta. He has also served in Canton and
Jackson MS. He helped to organize the Disaster Response and Long-Term Recovery
efforts in Jackson, MS after Hurricane Katrina.
Pastor Batten served the Word of
Life Seventh-day Adventist Church in Memphis, TN. In 2015 Pastor Batten received a
Doctor of Ministry degree in Urban Ministry from Andrews University.
In August 2019 he was installed as the new pastor of the Mt. Olivet Seventh-day Adventist Church in Ft. Lauderdale.
Additionally, Pastor Batten received a Leadership Certification from the John Maxwell Team. He is the author of a devotional book, inspire by his grandfather entitled, Wisdom: from Generation to Generation.
Pastor Batten is happily married to his lovely wife Denise. From their union God has
blessed them with two adult daughters, Amber, and Brandi. Pastor Batten loves reading. He enjoys old westerns on TV. He also has a passion for basketball; tennis and helping others come to know Jesus.
